Diamond Cosmetics part I

I thought I'd try something a little different for the next few posts and review/blog about multiple polishes from the same company.
I was looking through my storage drawers and was drawn to my little collection of Diamond Cosmetics.


258 White Shimmer. This was 3 coats and still on the sheer side. The shimmer in this is very faint and delicate. It was a bit streaky but it seems this can be expected from sheerer white polishes in general.


299 Peek-A-Boo Peach. Another 3 coater and still streaky. This might be a good base under other sheers as it is just a tad more opaque than Barielle Camo. This also has a touch of shimmer but it is not visible unless you get up close and personal.


173 Nice N' Naked. 2 coats and very good coverage. This has a bit silver/pearl shimmer in it and keeps it from looking like dead skin. On my skin tone it has a bit of a yellow undertone to it. Definitely a cool toned nude.


87 Cafe Au Lait. One of my favorite coffee drinks! This is 2 coats and has nice coverage. This also has a touch of shimmer in it. The undertones in this one are more peachy than Nice N' Naked.

All of these apply very nicely. The brushes are nice and spread the polish on evenly. These are all a great bargain too. Most DC polishes can be had for 2 bucks from their website.
I was a bit surprised at the amount of these that I have. Be prepared to see nothing but DC for the next few posts as I work my way through the ones I have. I promise they are not all sheers and nudes! DC has some really great colors.

Misa Bikini with a Martini

Summer is officially here so I feel the need to start working the brights and neons into the rotation.
Bikini with a Martini is so bright in person...I wish I could capture the brightness in a photo. If anyone has tips for taking photos of neons...please, do tell!!
This is 2 coats. It definitely would fit into the jelly classification along with neon. I love Misa's application. They've never let me down so far.

This week I am planning on doing a little Diamond Cosmetics spam/review. I didn't realize I had so many DC'd...I figured it was ther perfect time to start swatching and purging!

Zoya Starla

Wow...this is so...PINK! So, so girly and sweet and PINK! This is a huge departure from what I have been wearing lately. I can't say it's a color I love on me though. It is so pretty and almost neon looking in the bottle. It applies very sheer but has a nice sparkle to it. This is 3 coats...and there is still VNL but, I excpected that just by looking at it in the bottle. It really is a pretty color, just not on me. It was kind of nice to break out of my recent color rut...let's see if I can keep up the change!

L'Oreal Emperor

This was taken a few weeks ago. I had an unfortunate accident and had to chop down to nubs...but it was very refreshing! Almost like starting over. When my nails are this short I love to wear my darker colors even more. This is 2 coats of L'oreal Emperor, a beautiful deep blurple creme. These old polishes with the B3 chemicals are so great to apply. They always aplly pretty smooth and dry pretty quick. Now, if only I can complete my L'Oreal wishlist...

More H&M...

Aaahhh....Monday! Hope everyone had a relaxing weekend and a nice Father's Day.

Today I have a few more H&M's for you. These are in a different bottle style than the ones I posted yesterday. The polish itself applied very similar and the wear was the same.


This is U Must Have This. The color of this one is about the same as Aquatini but has no shimmer and is just a touch brighter. This one came out a little thick and could have used a touch of thinner but, I was happy with the overall color and application.


Goddess On Stage. This one is gorgeous! A deep purple with a touch of red shimmer. This could have used 1 more coat now that I see the photo but, I was definitely happy with this one. Goddess on Stage occasionally pops up on MUA for swap so if you want this one, keep an eye out!

H&M Just A Fling and Aquatini

Whoa...it's been a while! Instead of yesterday's nail you are most likely getting last week's or even last month's nail!! Such is life...

I had received a few H&M polishes a few months back and finally got around to wearing them. For the most part, they apply really nice. Square polish tops kind of bug me but these were manageable because they're smaller than other square tops I have come across. These are both 2 coats.


This is Just A Fling. A very nice lavender shade. It leans a litte warm on me which I always find odd as I don't think of purple or lavender as warm colors. Very pretty, subtle shimmer.


Aquatini. This one was fun! Very bright, almost neon turquoise. It matches a turquoise necklace that I have perfectly. This also has a bit of shimmer in it which borders on being pearly.

Both of these came from overseas so I don't believe they are available here in the US. I think H&M in the states have been carrying a small selection of polish but nothing compared to what has been released overseas.

Foiled again!!

So...I've been missing in action lately. Between work, vacation and life I've been away from my computer lately.

I have 2 foils for you today. Both of these are from Supply Source and were a steal for only $0.99! First up is Teal Foil...


This is 2 coats. I wish this were a little more "teal" IRL. It is beautiful though! It leans a little more green than actual teal but for 99 cents, I really don't have anything to complain about.

Next is Purple Foil...


Man, oh, man!! This is hot!! I love purple and this one is amazing! It is very metallic and glowy at the same time. This is also 2 coats. Both of these applied very smooth and dried very fast.

I have a few more of the Supply Source foils but haven't tried them yet. I think I plan on getting some more...for the price, you can't go wrong.

Here's a bonus...


Purple Foil mattified! I love how this has a sueded finish! I think foils and metallics look best matted and this one is no exception.

Diamond Cosmetics: Don't Teal My Heart Away

Happy Saturday everyone!! I am enjoying my sunny but mild Saturday afternoon...looking forward to what the night will bring!!


This is Diamond Cosmetics "Don't Teal My Heart Away". A beautiful medium teal creme. This is 2 coats with my regular base and top coats. This applied very nicely which I have found to be the norm for most Diamond Cosmetic polishes I have tried. I think I may have found another color I really love...teal!! This color works well with my skin tone I think.

Zoya Indigo

With all the hype over the Zoya exchange going on I thought it was time to post a Zoya of my own! This is Indigo. It is a beautiful shimmery navy with just the tiniest touch of holo glitter. When I say tiniest...I mean TINIEST!! You can definitely see it in the bottle but sadly, it does not translate very well to the nail. It is still a very pretty color and you do get random holo glints in the sun. The brushes on Zoya's are a little tricky and take some getting used to. The stem is shorter than other brands and the brush is short and narrower as well but, once you get the hang of it it works out just fine.

OPI My Throne For A Cranberry Scone

Why I waited so long to wear this is completely beyond me! This is gorgeous! This is old formula OPI which means thin brush and thin polish that applies perfectly! This is only 2 coats but I could have done a 3rd. This is not 100% color accurate and has a bit deeper tone IRL. If you don't have this one in your collection I would recommend you try to find it because it is very pretty. It's one of those colors that could be appropriate year round if you feel the need to use certain colors seasonaly. I wore this one for about 5 days which is very unusual for me!! I could easily see using it again before the year is over!
